Real Madrid coach Raul could re-evaluate future in the summer as Leeds United offer him Elland Road job

Real Madrid Castilla manager and Spanish football legend Raul could re-evaluate his future in the summer amid links to Leeds United.

According to Ecuadorian media outlet Studio Futbol [7 January], he wants to be in charge of his current team until the end of the season with AS reporting on 6 January that an offer from Leeds has been turned down by him.

Studio Futbol are a reputed news outlet and have amassed 293k followers on Twitter and they have been the first newspaper in the country.

Not needed

The only reason Leeds or any team considers Raul is because of his name recognition as he’s widely known as one of the greatest Spanish players of all time.

We’ve often seen the best of players failing as managers so there are no guarantees the 45-year-old is going to succeed as a head coach.

At Castilla, the expectations are low and also they’ve got such world-class facilities that they’re likely to win most games anyway.

Leeds United

However, at Leeds, it’s a different kind of challenge and he may not even be up for it so it’s a huge gamble which they must avoid taking.

There are plenty of other managers that have proven themselves and will be willing to take up the challenge and bail the Whites out of relegation trouble.

Andrea Radrizzani has flown into the United Kingdom and we’re expecting big things to happen within the next day or two in terms of getting the right man in.
