Midlands journalist: Club ready to do deal for £20k/wk star player after Leeds make contact
Norwich are “ready to sell” Emiliano Buendia after being relegated to the Championship, according to Midlands journalist Nick Mashiter – and Leeds United are interested.
PA journo Mashiter has said that Leeds hold a “long-standing” interest in the attacker and that Buendia wants to stay in the Premier League “above anywhere else”.
Athletic journalist Phil Hay had previously reported that Leeds had contacted Norwich over a deal for the 23-year-old winger.
Buendia is under contract until 2024 and on a reported £20k-a-week.

Oversight could cost Leeds
There are plenty of Leeds United fans who think that Buendia should already be a Whites player.
He was loaned out to Leeds’ sister side Cultural Leonesa and caught the eye of the club before Norwich pounced on him.
He was a standout for them in the 18/19 Championship and helped fire Norwich into the Premier League as champions with eight goals and 12 assists.
That’s exactly what Leeds needed in that season, Marcelo Bielsa’s first in charge.
Buendia couldn’t maintain that output in the Premier League, with just one goal, but he wasn’t the only player to seriously under-perform as the Canaries ended the season rock bottom and were sent straight back down to the Championship.
That oversight on Leeds’ part could end up costing them a lot of money if they do make a move for Buendia happen.
Their valuation of £25m [Daily Mail] might be way off the mark after Buendia’s season but he’ll go for a lot more than the £1.35m that Norwich paid for him.
