RB Salzburg want Leeds United target Aaronson's value to rise before cashing in
Red Bull Salzburg may reportedly wait for Brenden Aaronson’s value to rise before cashing in on his services, amid links to Leeds United.
CBS Sports has reported that, while he’s expected to move to a bigger club, the Austrian club could wait until the end of the World Cup this year as they expect his valuation to skyrocket then.
This comes after The Athletic reported that they turned down a £15million bid for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder.
Sky Sports have reported that the Yorkshire giants have already opened talks to secure his services.
Must sign him
The Aaronson interest has come out of the blue in the last few days and it reached the stage of an official bid as well.
That certainly means that Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds were keeping their cards close to their chest.
They’ve done their due diligence of the American and are now in a position to sign him.
First bids are almost always turned down as it gives the selling club an upper hand in the negotiations.
It’s no surprise that this story has come from an American source as the player’s agents would probably have briefed the press about it.
However, from what we’ve read about him, he seems the real deal and it could be worth spending closer to the £20million mark.
It would be a bitter pill to swallow if the Whites have come so close and then cool their interest in the player because they’re not able to match his valuation.
