Rasmus Kristensen ready to jet out of UK to complete Leeds United loan exit, deal one step away

Leeds United ace Rasmus Kristensen is ready to leave the UK to complete a loan transfer to Serie A club Roma, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The publication noted that the defender has already given the green light for the deal, which is now just one step away from completion.

The right-back, who was also utilised at centre-back last season, only joined the Whites from Red Bull Salzburg last summer.

“The full-back has already given the go-ahead for the transfer and the negotiation is one step away from closing, with the Dane already ready to land in the capital,” according to La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 14, 13 July).

Kristensen isn’t the first player to exit Elland Road this summer, and he won’t be the last, with the defender following in the footsteps of the likes of Robin Koch, who has already left on loan for German club Eintracht Frankfurt.

The expected summer exits at Elland Road are definitely unsurprising, both from a player point of view and a Leeds point of view.

The players themselves will not want to be wasting away in the English second division, with many fully aware of just how difficult it is to get back into the Premier League, particularly at the first time of asking.

Leeds meanwhile not only need to get some high earners off their payroll, but ultimately they will want to have players who want to be at the club next season and want to fight for immediate promotion to the top flight.

Kristensen seemingly has an easy decision on his hands, with the Denmark international foolish to turn down the chance to play in Italy with Serie A giants Roma.
