Raphinha's father comments on potential exit from Leeds United this summer

Raphinha’s father has shared that ‘possibilities exist’ for his son to leave Leeds United this summer, but nothing is advanced yet.

The Brazilian winger scored 11 goals and registered three assists for the Whites including a penalty on the final day to help the club secure their Premier League status for another season.

But he is now being heavily linked with a move to Barcelona and despite no agreement being found yet, his father Raphael Belloli told Record [Page 23, May 28] that his son is ‘calm’ about his current situation and shared the reason behind the great celebrations after the win against Brentford.

“Possibilities exist, but these possibilities involve three parties: the interested club, the current one and the player,” Belloli said.

“He is calm about having a contract, and, as everyone knows, the possibilities depend only on him. What is already known is what is in the news, nothing different from that.

“It was a celebration of great relief. It was a promise with regards to his goals which, unfortunately, were not to go down. This was achieved with the effort of the entire group. He is a very dedicated player with a lot of faith.”

We all know that Raphinha is likely to leave this summer and it’ll probably be a hefty fee that takes him there, but the player deserves credit for the way he’s acted throughout the speculation.

Initially there was a dip in form and it seemed his head had been turned, but he got focused again and returned to form to help the team survive.

He’s never spoken badly of the club, has worked hard on and off the pitch, even his entourage are being honest and respectful and it’s a credit to the player.

Obviously Leeds fans don’t want to see him leave because they’re a better team with him in it than without him, but if Barcelona come calling it’s always difficult to say no for any footballer.

Leeds must ensure they get the right price for their star man, but no fans will begrudge him his move and he would be welcomed back at Elland Road with open arms in the future.

In other Leeds news, one Premier League club have pulled out of the race for Raphinha according to reports.
