Raphinha singles out Leeds star Robin Koch for praise v Spurs

Leeds United easily brushed aside Spurs in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon at Elland Road.

The Whites won 3-1 against the Londoners chasing European football, with Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford and Rodrigo firing in the goals.

Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips were both on the bench as well, watching on as their teammates dominated Ryan Mason’s men.

The Brazilian superstar was thrilled by his defensive teammates and Robin Koch who was pushed into the Phillips role and shined yet again.

Raphinha also had a big role in the win, sealing the three points with an assist on a plate for Rodrigo to smash home.

“What a player,” as he singled him out on Instagram.

Phillips, where?

The Yorkshire Pirlo missing out usually spells trouble, but the Whites looked very solid in defence against some of the best attackers in the league.

Phillips did come off the bench towards the end of the game, and it was brilliant to see him and Raphinha back available after worrying injuries.

Koch was fragile against Brighton last week, but he more than made up for it this afternoon.

The 24-year-old made three tackles, two clearances and a couple of blocks according to WhoScored, and also got forward to great effect.

We expect Phillips to return at Burnley next weekend, although Koch is clearly leaving a big impact on his teammates for his new role.
