Raphinha shows love to Leeds United fans after Barcelona 2-2 draw v Mallorca

Raphinha showed love to some travelling Leeds fans who were present at Barcelona’s 2-2 draw with Mallorca on Tuesday night.

The Brazilian scored an equaliser as Barcelona were held to a draw away from home, extending their lead at the top of the table to one point having played a game more than Girona and fierce rivals Real Madrid.

But Raphinha, who left the club in the summer of 2022 in a £55m deal, made sure to show love to some Whites fans who were present as he stopped for a picture with the youngster.

Unlike this summer when a host of stars left the club under some relatively bad terms, there was no such issue with Raphinha.

The Brazilian was professional throughout the prolonged saga which included the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal making bids, but Barcelona was the only option that ever really interested him from the start.

He trained hard, stayed focused, and then got his move as Leeds got the money they were looking for and now he is shining at the highest level and proving his quality.

He was too good to be battling at the bottom of the Premier League, and if he had stayed then there is no doubt in any Leeds fans’ mind that he would have been able to keep us up in the division but it wasn’t to be.

We know how much the club helped him and his profile, and it’s great for us to see that he hasn’t forgotten that and still wants to show love to the fans.
