Raphinha reacts to Crysencio Summerville after Leeds United win v Liverpool
Crysencio Summerville became an instant hero at Leeds United as he fired home the winner at Anfield in a 2-1 victory against Liverpool over the weekend.
The young Dutchman has been backed by Jesse Marsch this season and got another start with Luis Sinisterra out injured, and he took that chance with both hands.
Raphinha was one of those to be stunned by Summerville, as he delivered him a message on social media watching along on the action over the weekend.
Looking at the responses on his personal Instagram account, Summerville was praised by the Brazilian who will have taught him a lot of what he knows at Elland Road.
Interestingly, the likes of Noa Lang were also in the comments after being strongly linked with a move to West Yorkshire in recent years.
Anyone who will have tracked Raphinha since his move to Barcelona will know that it hasn’t exactly started in the best of ways at the Nou Camp.
It was a similar story for Leeds before the trip to Anfield, where the squad was nine games without a win and pressure was seriously mounting on Marsch.
Instead, they pulled out a miraculous performance and deserved all three points, something that Raphinha clearly loved to see in his reaction on social media.
It was only months ago when Leeds travelled to Anfield and lost 6-0 to the Reds, where the Brazilian and Marcelo Bielsa came under heavy criticism, so much can change.
Summerville is the new-coming at Elland Road and although this goal doesn’t make him an instant world-beater, it certainly instils that confidence that he needs to kick on.
If he can come anywhere close to having the same impact that Raphinha had in West Yorkshire, there will be a lot of happy, smiling faces in the stands.
