Raphinha open to charge less as he looks to leave Leeds United for Barcelona this summer

Raphinha is reportedly willing to ‘charge less’ as he looks to leave Leeds United and join Barcelona this summer.

According to Spanish media outlet Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian has other offers but he prioritises a move to Camp Nou.

However, given Leeds’ high valuation of the player, Barcelona are unlikely to make a move for him unless they get relegated and Raphinha will be forced to play in the Championship if he stays at Elland Road.

Tricky scenario

Raphinha appears to be hell-bent on joining Barcelona this summer and can be understood why.

It’s a World Cup year and for him to establish himself in the Brazil squad and one of Europe’s best attackers, he would need to play in the Champions League.

Europe’s elite club competition is currently the moon to Leeds United as they’re engaged in a relegation battle and have no guarantees of Premier League football next season.

If they do end up getting relegated, it’s going to be really difficult to convince the likes of Kalvin Phillips and Illan Meslier to stay as well, let alone Raphinha.

All three of the players have been linked with moves to Europe’s elite clubs and they would fancy leaving than playing a season in the Championship.

This is why the Whites can ill afford to finish 18th and must do everything they can to avoid the drop.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could look to sign a ‘Phenomenal’ attacking midfielder this summer as he’s already bid farewell to fans of his club.
