Raphinha mocks Tim Krul after Leeds 2-1 win v Norwich City

Leeds United secured their second Premier League of the campaign at the home of Norwich City on Sunday, with Raphinha and Rodrigo the heroes.

The Brazilian international opened the scoring for the Whites, but Andrew Omobamidele drew the Canaries level almost instantly.

Rodrigo restored his side’s lead two minutes later, ensuring Leeds moved outside of the relegation after the hard-fought win over the rock-bottom side.

Raphinha took to Instagram to aim a dig at Norwich goalkeeper Tim Krul for mocking the Elland Road outfit back in 2019.

The Netherlands international ace said Leeds aren’t Barcelona after his side’s win over them at the time when both teams were still in the Championship, and Raphinha has replied.

The 24-year-old said on his Instagram stories: “No, we are not Barcelona.

We’re Leeds United.”

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have never claimed to be Barcelona, but they definitely play an attractive style of football, and it is normal for their rivals to be envious and jealous.

Krul probably made those comments in the heat of the moment at the time with both sides chasing Premier League promotion, but the internet never forgets.

Raphinha was not even at Leeds when the Norwich ace said those words, but he is a fan favourite right now and has now further endeared himself to the supporters after his reply.

Norwich are still yet to win in 2021-22 after 10 Premier League games and are favourites to get relegated after only just returning to the top-flight in the summer.

Despite their victory, the Whites are still not safe and will need to pick up more points heading into Christmas if they want to avoid the relegation battle in the second half of the campaign.

They host Leicester City next weekend before clashes against Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton, Crystal Palace and Brentford,

Leeds face Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool during a busy December, and they have to come up with a way to get needed results heading into 2022.

In other Leeds United news, Whites staff have been left thrilled as Bielsa funds behind-the-scenes development at Elland Road.
