Radrizzani sends Twitter message to Leeds fans after 1-0 defeat v Arsenal
Andrea Radrizzani has paid tribute to the Leeds United supporters who made their way to London on Monday night to watch their side lose 1-0 to Arsenal.
Leeds put in a brilliant display at the Emirates but could not stop themselves from being knocked out of the FA Cup by the Premier League side.
Although the Whites were on top for large periods of the third round fixture, Reiss Nelson’s second-half goal from close range was enough to seal the victory for the Gunners and set them up with a trip to Bournemouth in the next round.
Leeds chairman Radrizzani attended the match on Monday night and took to his personal Twitter account after the game to send a message to supporters.
“Good to see a lot of old friends at Emirates,” the Italian businessman said. “We deserved more, focus on next Saturday.
“Thank you again on all fans who travelled to London.”
Leeds at least deserved a replay back at Elland Road for the way they played in that match.
In the first half especially, Marcelo Bielsa’s men peppered the Arsenal goal with shots but were just lacking that bit of luck that would have taken the ball into the back of the net.
It was an impressive performance overall and despite it ending in defeat, it must put a lot of hope and belief into the supporters as the Whites prepare for the rest of the Championship season.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are in pursuit of this £2million-valued central midfielder.
