Radrizzani responds when asked if Rodrigo De Paul will be signing for Leeds
Andrea Radrizzani was asked about Leeds United signing Rodrigo De Paul when he was interviewed on Radio 24 on Friday.
He admitted that Leeds had “thought about it” but said that he didn’t think anyone would end up signing the Udinese midfielder in this window.
Radrizzani was quoted from the Tutti Covocati Twitter account on Friday afternoon and that was relayed by Athletic journalist James Horncastle.
Radrizzani said: ‘We thought about it but I don’t think anyone will sign him.”
This tallies up with what Leeds Live journalist Beren Cross said on Friday too.
In a Q&A on Leeds Live, Cross said, “The De Paul move does not feel as advanced as some would believe. It hasn’t been touched in many weeks and the numbers just don’t seem to add up for all parties.”
After the deal for Michael Cuisance fell through in dramatic fashion on Thursday night, there were plenty of Leeds fans who hoped the De Paul deal would be resurrected.
However, Udinese aren’t prepared to drop their price and Leeds aren’t willing to pay the near-£32m valuation that has been put on his head.
De Paul has started both Serie A games for Udinese and after Radrizzani’s comments, it really does feel like that’s it for this window.
De Paul wanted to come – he made that clear on his social media account. Unfortunately for him, Leeds weren’t as enthusiastic.
