Queens Park Rangers confirm Tyler Roberts returns to Leeds United after new injury setback
QPR manager Gary Ainsworth has confirmed that Leeds United striker Tyler Roberts has returned to Elland Road to undergo treatment and rehabilitation for his latest injury picked up at Loftus Road.
The Welsh international, who temporarily swapped Elland Road for Queens Park Rangers this season, has featured 18 times for the West London club, scoring four goals.
The forward has suffered his fair share of injury troubles throughout the past few years and confirmed on 7 March [LeedsLive] that he is set for an extended period on the sidelines after an “incredibly frustrating and upsetting” new injury.
And QPR boss Ainsworth [via QPR’s Twitter account, 9 March] confirmed that Roberts had returned to Thorp Arch to undergo treatment and rehabilitation on his new injury, and revealed he won’t be back until towards the end of the campaign.
He said: “Tyler’s currently back at Leeds and we’re all hoping he can get his career back on track.
“Hopefully that’ll be this season – but it’d be towards the end rather than anytime soon.”
Frustrating
This is yet another frustrating and disappointing setback for Roberts who has suffered so many injuries over the past few seasons.
Injuries are really a footballer’s nightmare but even worse when it happens time and time again, and the 24-year-old has suffered plenty of those.

It was because of his constant injury troubles which terribly affected his form and place in a Leeds United shirt, stopping him from performing at a high level regularly.
It remains to be seen whether the Welshman still has a future at Elland Road considering his contract runs out in 2024. He will certainly be sold in the near future, but any long-term injury trouble will most likely derail that too which means Leeds could well waste millions if they struggle to offload him.
A damaging blow for both parties.
