Pundit: Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams second coming of Chelsea ace N'Golo Kante
Sports 18 pundit Pradhyum Reddy has likened Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams to Chelsea ace N’Golo Kante for his performances at the World Cup.
The 23-year-old averaged 13 km run every game ahead of the Round of 16 clash between the United States and the Netherlands.
Adams has started every game for them and has been their captain as they navigated their way past the group stages to meet one of the top nations of the tournament.
Speaking on Sports 18, Reddy said, “He’s like a young N’Golo Kante. He’s averaging 13kms in every game. He wins tackles, dictates the tempo and is constantly on the move. Fantastic player for US.”
World class potential?
To be likened to Kante is some praise and Adams will undoubtedly be proud of all the plaudits he’s been getting at this World Cup.
The Frenchman won the 2018 edition of the competition and also has a Champions League winners medal to his name.
At 23, Adams’ already showing the maturity of a midfielder in his prime and Leeds have done a phenomenal job to secure his services.
Had he not moved to Elland Road in the summer, this World Cup alone would’ve seen his valuation rise to £50million and the big clubs would’ve been looking to sign him.
Leeds have got a phenomenal deal and we do not see Adams leaving at the end of the season.
If he does want out, the Whites can look to demand close to or maybe even more than the club-record fee they received from Barcelona when Raphinha left over the summer.
He certainly has world class potential and can certainly realise it under Jesse Marsch at Leeds so we’re hoping that he stays for the foreseeable future.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are now scouting an attacker at the World Cup and a January move appears to be on the cards for them.
