PSG president Al-Khelaifi conducts talks over Leeds United investment
PSG president and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi has reportedly held long talks with the owners of Leeds United and Newcastle over investment into the clubs.
According to Le Parisien [14 February], Qatar has had a long-standing interest in investing in the Premier League and are now considering a takeover at Manchester United.
They planned something similar at Newcastle before the Saudis purchased the club and even at Leeds, but neither came to fruition.

Dodgy investments
Leeds have a takeover plan in place and the San Francisco 49ers are expected to take control of the club this summer provided they do not get relegated.
There has been lots of talk about states in the Middle East owning football clubs for sportswashing and their dealings have come under plenty of scrutiny.
Champions League giants PSG have long faced allegations of spoiling the game and the same can be said about Manchester City who have been charged with financial irregularities.
The 49ers have been at the helm for a while now and they’re keen on transforming this club and helping it reach its true potential.

We’re unaware of what the intentions of Qatar or Al-Khelaifi will be and hopefully, those links do not come up again in the coming months.
As of now, the primary focus needs to be towards seeing who the next manager will be and doing everything possible to avoid relegation.
