PSG latest development could mean they’re out of race for Leeds United winger Raphinha

Mauricio Pochettino’s imminent PSG departure could be a boost for Leeds United after the Ligue 1 side previously expressed interest in Raphinha.

As revealed by The Athletic on Sunday [12 June], PSG are close to finalising the Argentinian manager’s departure from the French capital.

It had previously been reported by 90minespanol journalist Juan Medina on his personal Twitter account [28 May] that PSG had joined the race for the Brazilian winger.

However, Pochettino’s departure will now mean a new man will come into the hot seat and the Parc des Princes and it remains to be seen if the Leeds winger will still be on the French club’s wish list.

There still remains intense interest in Raphinha and it would be a huge surprise to see the winger in a white shirt come the start of the 2022/23 season.

Even the most optimistic Leeds fans will know that they will likely cash in on the Brazilian this summer in order to adequately improve the rest of their squad.

Leeds

If Raphinha does leave Elland Road he will go down as a modern legend amongst Whites fans with his final day penalty against Brentford helping Leeds secure their Premier League status.

He is clearly a player that is too good to be merely competing at the bottom end of the Premier League and knows that he has to play Champions League football at some point in his career.

It will be a sad day when he departs, but not one Leeds fan will begrudge him a move.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites are on the verge of another new signing for Marsch’s senior side.
