Premier League release new statement on Leeds United vs Arsenal match
Leeds United were soundly beaten by Arsenal on Saturday, with Noni Madueke having a particularly big say in the game.
Arsenal romped to a 4-1 victory at Elland Road to return to winning ways in the Premier League after three games without a win.
It was a stark reality check for Daniel Farke’s men, who shipped a couple of goals in each half in West Yorkshire.
Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus were all on the scoresheet for Arsenal, while Karl Darlow put into his own net for the other.
However, the Premier League have now moved to clear up some confusion surrounding the Gunners’ second goal.

Noni Madueke credited with second Arsenal goal
Madueke set up Arsenal’s opening goal with a fine cross into the box that Zubimendi got on the end of.
And the winger, who was a late addition to the Arsenal lineup after Bukayo Saka sustained an injury in the warm-up, sent in the delivery that Darlow palmed into his own net.
But the Premier League put out an announcement on its Match Centre account on X on Sunday afternoon to confirm the goal has now been awarded to Madueke, rather than being a Darlow own goal.
The Wales international endured a tough afternoon, with this decision to award the goal to Madueke hardly likely to bring him much solace.

Darlow had Dominic Calvert-Lewin awkwardly standing in front of him, but the goalkeeper should still have been doing far more to keep the ball out of the net.
Arsenal achieve something for second time ever with Leeds win
There is no doubt that Arsenal were good value for their victory at Elland Road, where Leeds were previously unbeaten in five.
The damage was not too great for Leeds thanks to West Ham throwing away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at Chelsea later on Saturday.
It marks the fifth time Arsenal have scored four-or-more goals away at Leeds in the Premier League era, which is the joint-most times a side has done that against a single opponent.
And it means Arsenal won five away games in a row in a single month for the first time since April 2000 and just the second time in their history.
As for Leeds, they will simply want to get this loss out of their system as quickly as possible as a huge showdown with Nottingham Forest awaits next week.
