Premier League make Wolves vs Leeds announcement that once left Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fuming
Wolves play host to Leeds United this Saturday.
Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Fulham left Micah Richards raging, and also left the Whites searching for their first away win of the season.
It was a day to forget for Gabriel Gudmundsson, whose own goal gifted Fulham all three points in an otherwise tight contest.
Daniel Farke will be looking to rectify that against Wolves, with a new announcement made ahead of Saturday’s encounter at Molineux.

Dan James involved in controversial incident back in 2020
Ahead of this weekend’s clash, the Premier League have announced the match officials, with Anthony Taylor set to take charge of the Leeds encounter.
Taylor is one of the most experienced officials in England, but back in 2020, a decision made by him left Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in disbelief, and it involved Dan James.
Back then, the Welshman was playing for the Red Devils, and he was booked at Old Trafford for diving against the Whites.

Taylor didn’t hesitate with the decision, and after the game, in quotes reported by Daily Mail, Solskjaer said: “For me it’s either a penalty or a free-kick for Dan and he gets a yellow card for diving – that’s shocking refereeing.”
In the end, the decision impacted nothing, with Man United going on to secure an emphatic 6-2 victory against Leeds.
Leeds United record when Anthony Taylor has been in charge
Given his experience, it will not come as a surprise to see that Taylor has officiated 22 Leeds games in his career.
The most recent of which came back in the 2022/23 season, when Tottenham secured a 4-1 victory against Leeds at Elland Road, with Jack Harrison on the score sheet for the Whites.
Last four Leeds games refereed by Taylor
- Leeds United 1-4 Tottenham
- Leeds United – 2-3 Fulham
- Leeds United 0-3 Chelsea
- Leeds United 1-1 Southampton
In total, Leeds have won just eight times when he has been the man in the middle, suffering defeat on nine occasions.
The hope will be that it can change this weekend, though with Leeds underdogs for the clash with Wolves, it remains to be seen if their winless run under Taylor goes on.
