Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has been in the middle of transfer interest for a number of years now.
Aston Villa were strongly interested last year, but Phillips decided to sign a new long-term contract at Elland Road instead.
Phillips is now an England international and after becoming a Premier League player, his value has surely skyrocketed.
That hasn’t appeared to put off any potential suitors though.
The Mirror have reported that Liverpool and Tottenham are keeping track of the 24-year-old ahead of next season.
It is suggested on their website that Leeds currently value the Yorkshire Pirlo at £50million after his stunning transformation under Marcelo Bielsa.
Both Tottenham and Liverpool are said to be ready to double Phillips’ £30,000-a-week wages next season, something which could exploit Leeds.
It all depends on how successful Leeds are this season.
Should the Whites have a similar season to the likes of Wolves, and get close to the European spots, Phillips would have no reason to leave.
The only reason that the 24-year-old would ever want to leave Elland Road is if Leeds are relegated, and under Bielsa, that surely won’t happen.
The likes of Jack Grealish have recently signed new contracts, and the Whites may need to follow suit should Phillips continue his cracking form this season.
