MOT View: Bielsa to make 2 big changes - Predicted Leeds starting XI v Stoke after key team news

The game against Stoke has just got that little bit bigger for Leeds United.

The problem with playing last is that if your rivals win, the pressure is heaped on you.

That happened this week as Brentford, Fulham and West Brom all won.

It means the Championship table looks quite painful for Leeds, with Brentford just three points behind.

That gap was 11 points before Brentford went into super-charged mode.

A win for Leeds is now even more important and the stakes were ramped up even higher after West Brom beat Derby last night. A win at Elland Road, though, and all is good again.

One thing we are fairly sure about is the line-up that Marcelo Bielsa is going to put out.

He confirmed in his press conference on Tuesday that both Stuart Dallas and Helder Costa would come straight back into the side if they were fit – and he was expecting them to play.

If they couldn’t, then Gjanni Alioksi and Barry Douglas would deputise as they did in the 3-1 win against Blackburn.

There was no word on Pablo Hernandez, so we presume that he’s going to start from the bench again.

Given all that, this is the starting XI we now expect to see on Thursday night:

Our money is on Bamford to have a big game tonight and score for the second successive game.

All eyes will be on Costa, too, after he signed his permanent deal with Leeds this week. He’s come in for criticism from the fans since the season resumed and we’re sure he’d like to start paying off his big fee with a match-winning performance.
