Plymouth vs Leeds United: David Prutton predicts result of Championship clash at Home Park
Leeds United have been backed by David Prutton to continue their “remarkable form” by overcoming Plymouth Argyle this weekend.
Daniel Farke’s men make their latest trip to Home Park on a seven-match winning league run to begin 2024, conceding just once in that period.
United required extra time to overcome Plymouth in their FA Cup fourth-round replay earlier this month after the initial tie also finished 1-1.
Prutton has tipped a 2-1 Leeds win in this latest encounter as part of his Sky Sports predictions.
“Plymouth will feel so unfortunate in how they conceded that late equaliser against Coventry on Wednesday night,” Prutton added.
“But they will have to put that to the backs of their minds because they are facing arguably the best team in the Championship at the minute.
“Leeds are in remarkable form. They absolutely destroyed Swansea in midweek and look unstoppable at the minute.
“There will be recent memories there of being pushed all the way at Home Park in the FA Cup, but I just can’t back against them right now.”
Leeds United should be too strong for Plymouth
The Whites really are in brilliant form right now, so much so that they have climbed up the division into second place in the space of a few weeks.
While Leeds have hold of that second automatic promotion spot, they are only two points ahead of Southampton and three in front of Ipswich Town.

Both of those teams have a game in hand to play, so it is important that Leeds keep this winning run going.
Plymouth have showed already this season what a tough side they are to beat, and Leeds do not have the luxury of a replay or extra time on this occasion.
Farke’s men have showed over the past month or so in the league that they can find a way to beat any opponent, though, and at full strength you would expect the same to be the case in Saturday’s (17 February) clash at Home Park.
In other Leeds United news, Sky Sports host Julian Warren apologised to Crysencio Summerville for his “stinker”.
