Leeds United host Crystal Palace at Elland Road on Monday evening in what will be a big clash in the middle of the Premier League table.

The two sides are sat eleventh and thirteenth, both on 29 points having picked up two wins from their last five games.

According to Sky Sports pundit Lewis Jones, injury concerns for Palace could play a deciding factor in the outcome.

Whilst giving predictions for the weekend fixtures, Jones sided with Leeds to pick up their tenth win of the season.

He said: “Since drawing 0-0 at home to Arsenal on November 22nd, Leeds have won six and lost six of their last twelve matches.

“With Palace’s injury troubles, I’ll edge towards a home win with no confidence behind it.

“Yes, six of Leeds’ nine league wins have come against teams in the bottom half but Palace thumped them 4-1 in the reverse fixture at Selhurst Park and Roy Hodgson’s men arrive here with back to back wins under their belt.

“With the way Leeds play at such relentless speed, the game gets stretched on plenty of occasions in their fixtures. Palace like to play on the break and rank fourth most for fouls won this season in the Premier League”.

Jones predicts a 2-1 win for Leeds at home.

Raphinia ready to go

We have endured a lively campaign to say the least and comfortably sit 15 points ahead of the bottom three in eleventh place. Whisper it: We’re right in the mix for a top-half finish.

We will be out for revenge on Monday after the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

That was never a 4-1 game and while we’re biased, the xG stats from UnderStat aren’t.

They had the game closer to a 1-1 with Palace just shading it.

Two men could prove all the difference this time around.

Brazilian winger Raphinia hadn’t really got going for Leeds at that stage. The 24-year-old hadn’t even started in the top-flight in the reverse fixture and came on us chasing the game at 3-1.

He’s gone on to register four goals and four assists since and looks an absolute steal at £17m. Seven of those goal involvements have in the last eight games.

He’ll be full of confidence, having scored exquisitely against Newcastle and Everton in the last ten days.

Additionally, Wilfried Zaha is out and he was an absolute menace on the break in the 4-1 reverse.

In other Leeds news, Bielsa comments on the future of £19k/wk star.
