Phil Hay tweet suggests Leeds loanee to jet into UK early next week

Leeds United loanee Helder Costa is set to jet back into the UK next week, based on what The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has reported.

According to the former Yorkshire Evening Post reporter, Leeds’ players are due back early next week and the only player who is reportedly abroad at the moment is on-loan Wolves attacker Costa.

Hay wrote on The Athletic website recently that most of Leeds’ players are still in England but based on his social media activity, Costa, 26, has been out of the country while the Championship season has been on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Costa is a one-time Portugal international who was born in Angola, so it remains to be seen where he has been since football was brought to a halt.

But, either way, he should be back in England in the coming days based on Hay’s latest update.

Costa has been an ever-present for Leeds this season and has appeared in every single one of the club’s Championship fixtures.

He is set to sign permanently from Wolves once his loan deal expires but that might not go down too well with most fans as the ex-Benfica winger has attracted criticism for his form this season.

Still, Costa remains a crucial part of this Leeds squad and if Marcelo Bielsa wants him back and available to train as soon as possible then we are happy to see him heading back to the UK next week.
