Phil Hay shares when Leeds squad will return to training ahead of Premier League season

The Leeds United squad will return to training next week at Thorp Arch, according to Phil Hay.

Marcelo Bielsa’s squad will kick off their Premier League season on the 12th of September after winning the Championship title with ease.

That means the Whites will have had three weeks break, with their last game the 4-0 victory against Charlton at the end of July.

The Athletic journalist responded to a fan on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday, with all eyes on the Premier League.

That will give Leeds a one-month pre-season for the biggest campaign they will complete in the past 16 years.

It is almost exactly the same as the break they had before the Championship restarted after the enforced break, and we all know how Leeds reacted to that.

After the lockdown, Leeds went onto win eight of their final games, losing and drawing only one clash on their way to the title.

The majority of the Whites squad have been away in Spain after their success, although they were ordered to return one week into their stay.

The Athletic reported that after government advice changed, Leeds advised their players to return early so they could complete their 14-day quarantine before the start of pre-season.

It also means that any signings made in the next week will have the chance to start pre-season from day one, hopefully under Bielsa.

With training back next week, Andrea Radrizzani will be looking to cement the future of Bielsa as soon as possible.
