Phil Hay shares what he has been told about Leeds United and Victor Orta amid Chelsea links

Phil Hay has been told that Victor Orta is happy at Leeds United as speculation increases surrounding Chelsea and their interest in the Sporting Director.

Jesse Marsch relayed the news as he faced the media for the first time in over a month, admitting his relationship with the Spaniard is “incredible”.

Hay dropped that there is no surprise from Elland Road over the links, with the hope remaining that he can stay at the club and continue to move forward and build.

Writing on his personal Twitter account on Friday 30 September, Hay dropped the reaction from those inside the club from Marsch himself.

“Marsch on links between Victor Orta and the sporting director’s job at Chelsea: ‘I’m not surprised that he’s being linked’,” he wrote.

“I can unequivocally say that he’s very happy here and we have an incredible relationship. I hope he stays.”

Fingers Crossed.

It appears as though developments are very fluid right now with nothing concrete going on as regards to Chelsea potentially making their move for Orta.

The Spaniard bleeds white as he has proven time and time again with his passion and celebrations during his years at Elland Road, often caught on camera.

Marsch was courted by the director long before Marcelo Bielsa left the club, and that partnership appears to have strengthened even further since the American was placed in charge.

Chelsea are going through their own transitional period right now and that has seen numerous staff members leave Stamford Bridge as Todd Boehly goes for the full overhaul.

Orta may be part of that but it would take big compensation to Andrea Radrizzani, who will no doubt take the same approach as Marsch, shared by Hay earlier.

All we can do is wait and cross our fingers, but Orta knows he is loved at Leeds – long may that continue.
