Phil Hay shares what Daniel Farke told him about Luis Sinisterra Leeds United exit

Daniel Farke has revealed that Luis Sinisterra has made his mind up to leave Leeds United permanently in the summer itself as he joined Bournemouth.

The Whites announced that the Colombian will be moving to the Vitality Stadium at the end of the season where he’s currently on loan.

The 24-year-old had a clause in his contract at Elland Road that allowed him to leave on loan in the event of relegation, provided the club pays Leeds his salary in full.

The Athletic’s Phil Hay took to Twitter to write: “Farke on Sinisterra’s permanent exit: ‘Overall it’s a good decision and beneficial for our future. I never made a secret that I really rate Luis from a football point of view. We wish him all the best. He also made it clear in the summer that he wanted to have this move’.”

Will not be missed at Leeds

Farke is being diplomatic about rating Sinisterra as a player but he will not have liked how he angled for an exit in the summer.

His fitness record is also something that many fans were not overly pleased with so this is not a deal that will sting the fans at all.

It’s a good thing that Leeds did not make a loss on him and the fact that they didn’t make a profit means that Feyenoord will not get anything from the deal.

The Whites have sufficient depth and talent in their squad to compensate for his departure with Crysenscio Summerville, Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter taking their game to the next level this season.

Additionally, Sinisterra’s contribution, while noteworthy, wasn’t indispensable, as evidenced by his modest goal and assist tally.

Also, the attacker himself did not want to stay at Elland Road and an unhappy player seldom translates to good performances on the field.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites could have moved fast to sign a West Ham defender with just a few negotiation points left to iron out.
