Phil Hay shares what Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta were spotted doing pitchside as Leeds United smashed by Chelsea
Phil Hay has shared that Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta were spotted smiling nervously pitchside as Elland Road as Leeds United took on Chelsea on Wednesday [11 May].
The Whites were smashed with ease as the Blues left West Yorkshire with all three points in a 3-0 win as Dan James was the latest to pick up a red card.
Hay shared that Orta and Radrizzani, who have come in for huge criticism as Leeds face relegation to the Championship, but it didn’t look to be fazing them.
Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic on Thursday [12 May], Hay shared what the boardroom duo were spotted doing pitchside at Elland Road.
“For five minutes in the build-up at Elland Road, Andrea Radrizzani and Victor Orta stood and chatted pitchside, smiling in the way of nervous men trying not to think about those death strokes,” he wrote.
“Leeds have found themselves living day to day as a team, surviving on fumes and sucking every gasp of energy from the stands.”
We can’t see the pain that the fans are going through right now, in the eyes of Orta and Radrizzani – they are mainly the reason why we are in this mess.
Orta can trick us all by shouting and letting a tear drop when we win, but when we are being smashed because of his shocking transfer work, he sits there doing nothing.
It is all an act and both him and Radrizzani have to take some blame for letting this opportunity pass them by.
No money being spent in January was one of the most shocking decisions that we have ever seen, with injuries having decimated the squad. Instead, they decided to blame Marcelo Bielsa after he left and his decision to not accept any additions.
Both are embarrassing and this will hang over their heads if we don’t scrape something from our final two games against Brighton or Brentford, they may be pushed out of the club by the fans.
