Phil Hay shares update on Javi Gracia coaching staff as Leeds United make official announcement

Javi Garcia reportedly wants to bring his coaching staff from Spain as he has taken over at the helm at Leeds United.

The Whites made an official announcement that Gracia has joined on a flexible contract without revealing the duration of it.

Phil Hay wrote on the Athletic on 21 February, that the plans are to get the coaching staff from his native Spain as he begins to assemble his backroom team.

Get it done

Zigor Aranalde is Gracia’s trusted henchman and he could walk through the door with the Spaniard who will ideally want multiple coaches.

He began his coaching career at Albacete in 2011 and has held a total of four assistant roles since then.

The 49-year-old has been Gracia’s assistant at Watford, Valencia and Al Sadd, and could make a return to the Premier League.

It will be interesting to see who else he gets to the club and how his relationship with Michael Skubala will be as he was assuming the first-team responsibility.

Hopefully, the transition should be a smooth one with Subala assisting him as he’s now been promoted to work with the first team.

We’re hoping that he gets his work permit in time for the game against Southampton as the club desperately needs the new manager bounce for it.
