Phil Hay shares Leeds United transfer update with players ready to sign
Phil Hay claims that work for new incomings had already begun before Daniel Farke was announced as the next Leeds United manager.
The Athletic journalist was asked on the Square Ball about whether or not there will be any movement on announcing new signings this week.
He remained sceptical about anything happening in the coming days, but moots announcements over the coming week.
He said at 27:54, “The incomings will be on Farke’s mind more than anything else. That’s going to start very soon. Whether by Friday, I’m not so sure but I think in the next week we’ll start to see movement.”
“I’m told that there are [players ready to join] as in players that are already agreed and ready to go but it would be really good if that was the case, even in a handful of situations.
“Hammond has had two or three weeks inside the building now so you would very much like to think that they’re on with what they want to do and want to get the ball rolling.”
Good news
Farke knew he was the next Leeds manager days before it was announced so there’s a good chance that he already began his say on transfers.
He knows what it takes at a club that’s just been relegated as he experienced it with Norwich and then did well to get them right back up.
While keeping the first team players is important, the German will know that most of those that want to leave will end up getting their way.

This means that the priority has to be on recruiting the right kinds of players that will make Leeds among the strongest if not the strongest team in the second tier.
Leicester will be the favourites along with Leeds, but they’ve recently lost two of their best players and James Maddison has left for big money so they could look to spend a decent amount this summer.
For Leeds, most of the exit reports thus far have been loan related so they’ll need to make a sale or two to make things easier.
In other Leeds United news, the club have been handed a boost to sign a Manchester United player this summer with Erik ten Hag likely to sanction his exit.
