Phil Hay shares latest update on Leeds United pursuit of Marc Roca
Phil Hay has suggested that Leeds United are yet to secure an agreement for Bayern Munich midfielder Marc Roca.
The Atheltic journalist wrote on his personal Twitter account on 12 June that “it’s not good to go yet”, and he is still waiting for “white smoke”, which basically the final done-deal update.
If Leeds can secure the deal, he will become the third signing for the club, having already secured deals for Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen.

Hay wrote on Twitter: “Just waiting for white smoke, that’s all.”
In another tweet, he clarified the update: “no, it means that it’s not good to go yet.”
Third major deal?
Roca would be a superb addition for the Whites. He struggled to make an impact for the German giants, but he did well with whatever little chance he got.
According to Marca, via their website on 11 June, Roca will soon join the Whites, with Leeds likely to reach an agreement for a fee between £11.1million and £12.8million.
He is set to sign a three or four-year contract at Elland Road, with Jesse Marsch personally making an effort to sign him.

The Whites needed to sign a deep-lying midfielder for a while, and Roca would fill that role. He can easily play as a number six alongside Kalvin Phillips or he can be his replacement as well.
All the midfielders Leeds have are right-footed, therefore Roca’s signing will come as a healthy balance as he is predominantly a left-footed midfielder.
His playing style is more or similar to that of Xabi Alonso, which means we could see a change in style as well next season if he joins.
In other Leeds United news, the Whites are on the verge of another new signing for Marsch’s senior side.
