Phil Hay shares latest update on Leeds United defender Robin Koch
Phil Hay has relayed the information he has on Leeds United defender Robin Koch, saying it could be “quite interesting” in the summer.
The German international has struggled for fitness since joining the Whites from Freiburg under Marcelo Bielsa. He has only managed 11 starts in the league this season.
Koch reportedly could be set for the Elland Road exit door, with the Whites ready to listen to offers for him [Football Insider].

Hay, while speaking on The Phil Hay Show, has shared that he’s an admirer of Koch, but he has no concrete information about his potential exit, although he is aware of media reports.
“I’ve always liked Koch’s game, I think that there’s a very, very good player there he’s just a player who hasn’t been fit enough and hasn’t been in the team enough, said Hay.
“I’ve heard nothing from Leeds to say that they would look at moving him on in the summer, but I did see the reports earlier this week.
“As with quite a few players, it’s going to be quite interesting, isn’t it this window.”
Unlikely
Koch is a fantastic defender. He is a regular member of his national team and plays his passion and pride for the club.
He has got excellent technical abilities and he is equally versatile.
The 25-year-old was often used by Bielsa in the defensive midfield role, although he is more adept at playing at the back.
The problem is Koch, given his talent, hasn’t been able to dislodge the likes of Liam Cooper, Pascal Struijk and Diego Llorente to cement a regular starting spot.

He is about to enter the peak phase of his career and needs to make a big call on his career. He can either work extremely hard to establish himself as a regular Premier League player or there is always an option to return to any Bundesliga club.
Clubs in Germany would love to have him on their side, but Jesse Marsch may not be too keen to make drastic changes at the back.
