Phil Hay shares if Leeds United set for significant boardroom overhaul post San Francisco 49ers takeover

Leeds United will not reportedly see a significant change in their boardroom after San Francisco 49ers complete their takeover of the club.

According to the Athletic’s Phil Hay, there will be changes but nothing as significant where there will be an overhaul behind the scenes.

He also claims that the likes of Andrea Radrizzani and Paraag Marathe will see to the appointment of a new technical director and manager.

He said on the Phil Hay Show at 13:31, “Even though a new ownership will come in, you’re not likely to see a difference in the boardroom.

“Don’t get me wrong, there will be additions, there will be new directors appointed and it will be 49ers enterprises leading that.

“The only people in charge of getting in a new technical director and manager will be the recruitment staff that stayed on, Andrea Radrizzani, Paraag Marathe, because who else can it be?”

Need a change

The current regime has taken the club as far as it can and it will be a step back if they end up getting relegated this season.

All of Marcelo Bielsa’s hard work in building this side will be in vain if they end up back in the Championship again.

Bringing him was the ultimate decision but very few things since his arrival have gone as they should have and the entire board needs to take responsibility for it.

Victor Orta was the first to go for his willingness to stick with Javi Gracia but Angus Kinnear and eventually Radrizzani need to be out as well.

The 49ers need to run this club with completely new ideas as following the methods of the old guard is not going to get them too far.

It remains to be seen how things transpire and the first milestone will be to avoid relegation as that’s what will make a lot of decisions for the club.
