Phil Hay shares if Leeds United make decision to appoint Alfred Schreuder after talks post Manchester United game

Leeds United are reportedly continuing talks on the evening of Sunday, 12 February with former Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder.

According to the Athletic journalist Phil Hay, Leeds are yet to arrive at a decision on whether or not they want the Dutchman to be Jesse Marsch’s successor at Elland Road.

He was in the stands as Manchester United raced to a 2-0 victory against the Whites as he arrived with his agent to discuss the Leeds job as Leeds have ramped up interest in his services in the last 24 hours.

Get it done

This managerial chase has dragged on longer than expected and it’s not something that Leeds would have wanted.

It’s baffling how they did not have a replacement ready to go as quickly as they did when Marcelo Bielsa was still in charge.

The Argentine was on one-year deals at the club so there was that bit of uncertainty, but a club that has a plan in mind does have backups ready.

We’re waiting to see how talks with Schreuder go even though he’s not an appointment that will excite the Elland Road faithful.

His record at Ajax was a woeful one and he knows that he’s got a huge challenge to keep Leeds up as they’re in a relegation battle this season.

Talks are likely to go on for a few more hours and may even perhaps continue on Monday as well but a decision needs to be made before Everton.
