Phil Hay has claimed that “everyone will be watching” Leeds United winger Raphinha after his amazing start in the Premier League.
Football Insider reported on Saturday that Liverpool are keeping tabs on the Brazilian after he has “blown away” their talent spotters.
Hay shared that outside interest is inevitable, but his long-term contract could set a huge price-tag on the wingers’ head.
Writing on the Athletic, Hay claimed it would take a lot of money to prize the Brazilian away from the Whites and Elland Road.
“Everyone will be watching Raphinha,” he said.
“You can’t make this sort of impact and not have people on your case. But he’s on a longer contract and he would cost a lot of money.”
There is no hiding from the fact that Raphinha has been a revelation.
From turning down the chance for Champions League football at Rennes to moving to Elland Road for only £17million, could he get any better?
Marcelo Bielsa will be planning on building his side around the South American, and would surely want upwards of £50million before even considering any sort of exit.
We must take this as a compliment, who would have thought this time three years ago that the Premier League champions would be sniffing around our squad?
The 24-year-old has only been at Elland Road for four months, and will only continue to get better with more experience and Bielsa training under his belt.
There will be plenty more reports linking Raphinha with these huge clubs going forward, but there should be no worries at this stage of the season.
