Phil Hay names two Leeds players waved in by security at Thorp Arch since training shutdown

Thorp Arch may be closed at the moment but that has not stopped a couple of Leeds United players from using the facilities there.

According to The Athletic’s Phil Hay, Liam Cooper and Barry Douglas have both been at the club’s training ground to use the Marcelo Bielsa-inspired running track since training was disbanded last week.

It is understood that Douglas visited Thorp Arch on Friday while Cooper went on Monday to run alone in isolation after being waved in by security.

Hay reports that Thorp Arch is open to those who are in need of hands-on rehabilitation but it seems players are still able to go there to stretch their legs and keep their fitness in check.

Bielsa’s squad of players are currently doing their best to train from home after exercise bikes were delivered to their houses, as well as other essential items such as GPS vests, the Adidas running app, diet plans and scales.

It is reported that Bielsa wants players to check in with their weight every morning, without fail, while Thorp Arch is shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It must be a tough and frustrating time for Leeds United players at the moment as before football ground to a half earlier this month, they were in impressive form at the top of the Championship table.

The sooner everything gets back to normal the better but it is going to be at least a month before football is up and running again.

In other Leeds United news, Douglas claims this Leeds player is a “dark horse”.
