Phil Hay names three players Leeds United already trying to sign after staying in Premier League on Sunday

Phil Hay has named three players that Leeds United are already working on signing after securing their Premier League status on Sunday evening [22 May].

The Athletic journalist shared that the Whites are confident of agreeing a fee for RB Salzburg star Brenden Aaronson, something that has now happened.

Leeds are also reported to be working on a deal for Aberdeen wonder Calvin Ramsay and an unnamed centre-forward that is currently playing in the Premier League.

Writing in his latest piece for The Athletic, Hay set tongues wagging with the last piece of information, with Leeds certainly meaning business this time around.

“They anticipate signing Aaronson from RB Salzburg, confident a fee can be agreed this time,” he wrote.

“And have also been working on Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsay and a Premier League centre-forward.”

Here We Go.

Now, this is what we’re talking about.

Aaronson looks all-but-confirmed at this stage, meaning our first major signing of the window is already complete for when it opens to be announced with some minor last details.

Ramsay has been charted by Liverpool in recent months, so getting that over the line would be a real coup and even a potential starter next season given Luke Ayling’s surgery this week.

Now, the moment we are all waiting for… a Premier League centre-forward – who could it be?

Eddie Nketiah at Arsenal is an obvious shout given his contract is now on the verge of expiry, and Michy Bathsuayi is another who has been linked with Leeds previously.

The latter would not be very inspiring, but even talk of a new striker after our nightmare with Patrick Bamford is enough to get us very excited.

One thing for sure is that we are in for a wild couple of months before the start of next season, bring it on.
