Phil Hay moots potential developments on Max Wober Leeds United exit after what Daniel Farke said
Phil Hay has shared what Daniel Farke said on Max Wober after Leeds United suffered a 2-0 defeat to AS Monaco on Saturday, 22 July.
The Athletic journalist claims that the coming days will give a better idea about where the Austrian defender’s, 25, future lies with a move very much on the cards this summer.
Farke revealed that he was missing in action from the friendly because there is a “transfer situation” that’s being dealt with.
Hay wrote on Twitter, “Max Wober’s absence from the squad today described as a ‘transfer situation’ by Farke – didn’t go into details but gave the impression that we could see developments with him shortly.”
Another relegation clause?
Leeds have these strange clauses included in the contracts of certain players that allow them to leave in the event of relegation on loan.
The likes of Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen and Robin Koch have all left on loan due to that and it seems like Wober’s got that in his contract too.
Farke said he didn’t pick Wober because of a situation and that very well could be the clause and him being unsure about wanting to stay or leave.

It makes sense for the manager not to pick the Austrian if he’s not going to be at the club for the upcoming season.
Thus far, no approaches have been made for the defender but that can change if word gets out that he wants to leave at all costs.
Hopefully, Farke can have a conversation with him and convince him to stay and help Leeds secure promotion right away.
