Phil Hay: Leeds United taking stricter measures to combat Covid
Leeds United are taking stricter measures at Thorp Arch to minimise the spread of Covid-19, according to Phil Hay.
Not only do the Whites have nearly all their players vaccinated, but they’ve ramped up testing in recent days.
Apart from the bi-weekly RT PCR tests, players now have to take a lateral flow test each day in parking before being allowed to mix with the group.

Speaking on the Phil Hay Show, the Athletic journalist said, “They’ve gone back to very strict rules at Thorp Arch. Players are tested in the car park. They’re doing daily lateral flow tests and PCRs twice a week.”
Good move
Leeds have set the example for the other Premier League clubs in terms of their vaccination numbers.
They’ve quickly got close to the 100 per cent mark, which is impressive.
Prior to the Liverpool cancellation, they did not have any major outbreak of the virus at Thorp Arch, but unfortunately, that has happened in the last few days.

That said, it is good to see the club doing everything they can to minimise the spread of the virus and safeguard the players and the staff.
Hopefully, the Liverpool game is a one off and there are more players available for the Aston Villa clash on December 28.
The Whites desperately need to return to winning ways and Villa could prove to be the perfect game to do that.
In other Leeds United news, the club have made an enquiry to sign a ‘Magnificent’ South American midfielder in January
