Phil Hay: Leeds United set to announce the signing of Luis Sinisterra

Leeds United are set to announce the signing of Colombian winger Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord according the Athletic’s Phil Hay.

Hay has revealed on Thursday 7 July that an announcement is imminent and that the winger will sign a five-year deal at Elland Road.

According to Dutch media outlet, Gerlander Leeds will pay an initial £21.5million for the 23-year-old attacker.

Quick business

Leeds are really not messing about when it comes to getting their transfer dealings completed this summer.

Sinisterra went from a reported target to nearly signing within a matter of days.

The Colombian winger will certainly ease the blow of losing Raphinha if and when the Brazilian does depart Elland Road.

Ultimately, the 25-year-old deserves a shot at the highest level and no Leeds fan will begrudge the winger a move.

However, Sinisterra will be a good replacement and looks to be in a similar mould to Raphinha.

Leeds will be hoping the Feyenoord attacker can emulate Raphinha’s time at Elland Road and go on to be a real asset for Leeds in the years to come.

Jesse Marsch will still likely want another winger to come through the front doors at Elland Road with Sinisterra still unproven in the Premier League.

The Leeds boss is certainly putting faith into what has worked for him before in Germany and in Austria.

It will be intriguing to see if it works in England’s top flight as well.

In other Leeds United news, the club have now opened talks with an ‘Incredible’ title-winning central midfielder to replace Kalvin Phillips and sign him along with Tyler Adams.
