Phil Hay: Leeds don’t have financial issues in transfer market
Phil Hay has insisted that Leeds United don’t have financial issues with just over two weeks remaining in the transfer window.
The Whites have signed Jack Harrison, Junior Firpo and Kristoffer Klaesson, but LUFC FANZONE reported that financial issues are preventing further moves for the likes of Noa Lang.
The Athletic’s Hay has been questioned on those reports and insisted that although COVID-19 has hit the club, they have the funds to do business.

Writing in a Q&A for the Athletic, Hay has responded to those major claims with a defiant answer.
“Not as far as I can tell.
“That doesn’t mean Covid hasn’t stripped them of some income but if you remember, the aim last summer was to spend heavily and then calm it down in this window.
“At the moment, they’ve spent around £25m on Firpo, Harrison and Klaesson. They’d like O’Brien and they’re still not ruling out a winger. The thing I’d say is, don’t expect a window like 2020 every year. It can’t be like that.”

No panic needed.
We have spent money on the likes of Firpo and Harrison, but there were big hopes surrounding other big moves.
Victor Orta is in the market for a midfielder and another winger, that has been no secret, but progress has been hard to come by.
COVID-19 has hit every club, and with matchday revenue returning next week, January may be a bigger month for the Whites.
It has been made no secret that we will take advantage should players become available, with a move similar to Raphinha last year possible.
