Phil Hay has shared that Jesse Marsch and Leeds United are ready to move for new transfers before the window slams shut at the end of this month.

Speaking on Friday afternoon [19 August], Marsch confirmed that the Whites ready FC Zurich striker Willy Gnonto very highly before admitting that they are very active in the market.

The American did state that some dominoes will need to fall and Leeds will need to be ready for that to make their moves in this current market.

Writing on his personal Twitter account during the press conference, Hay dropped what Marsch told him about potential new arrivals in the next couple of weeks.

“We know him [Gnonto], we think highly of him,” he said.

“We’re active, we have time and I think there’ll be movement (in the market). Some dominoes will fall and we have to be ready.”

More than one needed?

This is exactly what we have all been crying out for.

When suggestions came to light that Leeds may do nothing between now and August 31st, there was outrage in the fanbase, and rightly so – all of the hard work in this window may have been thrown away.

The Whites are two new faces away from the perfect window – a left-back and a striker.

Gnonto would solve the final third issue and someone such as Kai Wagner at Philadelphia Union would bring much-needed depth and competition in defence.

With Junior Firpo and Patrick Bamford suffering from constant injuries, bringing in two new faces would see this squad transformed with cover for every area of the pitch.

After Marsch made his plans very clear, hopefully, we can cross our fingers that new arrivals will be coming between now and the 31st, after all it is needed.

All eyes are on Elland Road.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites now want to sign this striker with a rival set to kickstart a major £30million+ transfer battle
