Phil Hay issues injury update from Leeds United v Bristol City clash

Phil Hay claims that the replays showed an ankle twist for Nahki Wells and that led to him being withdrawn in the game against Leeds United on 7 October.

The 33-year-old striker started the game for Bristol City but had to be taken off in the 26th minute.

The Athletic journalist then checked out replays of him twisting his ankle.

Hay wrote on Twitter, “Elland Road favourite Nahki Wells down and needing treatment. Came off worse in a tussle with Struijk. 26th min. Replays showed a nasty twist of an ankle. He’s going to be replaced.”

Positive signs for Leeds

Surely the Elland Road faithful will be praying for a speedy recovery for Wells who seems to be out for some time at least.

However, it was another positive home performance and Daniel Farke will be pleased with a lot of what he would’ve seen.

The scoreline could’ve been more empathic and Georginio Rutter will be kicking himself for missing that chance to find the back of the net.

Apart from that, the changes seemed fine and Leeds look pretty good to not just finish in the top six but perhaps even secure a direct promotion berth.

Leicester City appear far and above the rest but the Whites are not too far behind and if they go on a good run then anything is possible.

Hopefully, the international break does not see players picking up any injuries and they can go at it again at the end of October.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that big European clubs have been keeping tabs on a Whites player for a while and are still willing to sign him.
