Phil Hay gushes over Georginio Rutter as Leeds United beat Huddersfield

Phil Hay was pleased by Georginio Rutter’s creativity as Leeds United sealed a comfortable victory against Huddersfield at Elland Road.

The Whites scored four goals in the first half and the Frenchman did an unbelievable job for the fourth goal in particular, running down the left flank before setting it up for Crysencio Summerville.

Even for the Dutchman’s first, Rutter played a major role, but will not be credited with an official assist.

The Athletic’s Hay wrote on Twitter, “Rutter’s creativity and general play has been on a different level so far this season. Just sees so much and so quickly.”

Great campaign

Rutter is having a sensational campaign after barely featuring last season despite signing for a club record fee.

The Frenchman seemed like he would be the one to address the club’s attacking woes amid the unavailability of Patrick Bamford.

However, whenever he was given a chance to prove his worth, he did not do a good job.

This season, under Daniel Farke, he seems to playing with that added confidence and has built a very good understanding with Joel Piroe.

Even though he may not be scoring too many goals, the overall impact he’s had has been unparalleled and he’s surely one of the first names on the team sheet.

It remains to be seen just how many assists he ends up with this season as the sky is the limit.

In other Leeds United news, Phil Hay claims that big European clubs have been keeping tabs on a Whites player for a while and are still willing to sign him.
