Phil Hay expects big Kalvin Phillips bid soon for Leeds to deal with
Phil Hay has insisted that a monster bid won’t be far away for the services of Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
The Yorkshire Pirlo is close to signing a new contract extension at Elland Road, likely making him the highest-paid player at the club.
Also, it defends Leeds against smaller bids and raises Phillips’ value through the roof in case of interest from the big six clubs down the line.

Writing in his Athletic Mailbag, Hay shared that Leeds don’t want to hold Phillips back at this stage of his career should a major move materialise.
“At this rate, it feels like a matter of time before someone bids big for him and in those circumstances, it’s not as simple as the club rejecting an offer,” he said.
“The situation would depend on whether Phillips wants to stay, how much the bid is worth and whether actually, a sale at the right time could work for everyone if the club know how they will reinvest.
“Leeds don’t want to lose him but they respect him enough not to want to hold him back either. He’s rapidly becoming Champions League material. But expect a new contract to be agreed before long.”

Sad Reality.
Without Marcelo Bielsa, there is no chance that Phillips would have enjoyed this astronomical rise in football over the past three years.
But, with that success comes interest and everyone will know that, none more so than the player himself and El Loco.
Leeds securing Phillips to a new big-money contract is smart, it represents his standing at the club and tells teams they will have to hit nearly £100million or more to gain his services.
No one is ignorant, we all know that teams will start throwing money at Phillips sooner rather than later, with almost every single club in the top six needing a holding midfield.
The Whites made their own through Bielsa, and now it looks as though we could be facing some serious interest in the near future – new contract or not.
