Phil Hay details ‘unusual’ Leeds United situation Daniel Farke admitted himself
Phil Hay has admitted the injury situation at Leeds United is “unusual” as Daniel Farke continues to have a plethora of choices.
The Whites have been majorly lucky in terms of their star players being fit and prepared for a hectic Championship schedule, with only minor injuries beginning to show.
With four fixtures still left to play in December, injuries can have a massive impact on a team’s season and Farke will be hoping luck continues.

“Up until this point, they haven’t had many injuries, not an overwhelming number anyway, Hay said via The Square Ball podcast on Friday (15 December).
“They have been without players from time to time. But Farke said himself that they came into December with Stuart Dallas as the only absentee. Of course, since then there have been Sam Byram and others.
“It’s quite unusual at Leeds. Injuries have been a massive problem for them for quite a while but that has definitely changed.”
A good headache
Limited injuries mean that Farke continues to have nearly his whole squad to choose from when deciding his starting XI. And if Leeds are to challenge for the promotion this season, the luck will need to stay on their side.
Leeds deserve a little bit of luck. And with their current form, losing just four times in 21 matches, they have earned a little bit of luck too.

Although some players have been unavailable recently, like Byram, Patrick Bamford and Jamie Shackleton, it has done little in the way of slowing Leeds down as they still lead Southampton, West Brom and Sunderland in third.
With Stuart Dallas rumoured to be nearing full recovery from a broken hip, Farke could have a fully fit Leeds squad by the end of January. If Leeds have any chance of catching Leicester City and Ipswich Town, they will need an entire squad to do so.
And with the club unlikely to dip into the transfer market during January, Farke will have to put his total faith in his players staying fit for the rest of the season.
If they have managed it so far, there is no reason why they cannot last a few more months.
