Phil Hay details Leeds United injury blow to Tyler Adams ahead of Wolves clash
Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams has been ruled out of this weekend’s clash with Wolves after suffering a hamstring strain in training, according to Phil Hay.
The American international has established himself as a pivotal and key performer for the Whites since his move from RB Leipzig, featuring in 24 of their 26 Premier League games this season so far.
Adams was also in line to feature for the US in the upcoming March international break in the CONCACAF Nations League matches against Grenada and El Salvador, but now looks set for a spell on the sidelines.
Hay, taking to his personal Twitter account to announce the news, tweeted:
“Tyler Adams has suffered a hamstring injury in training and will miss Saturday’s game at Wolves. Also ruled out of international duty with the USA.”
Huge blow
With the Whites steeped in a nerve-wracking relegation dogfight, currently sitting in the relegation zone in the Barclays Premier League table, Adams’ injury latest comes as a huge blow to their chances.
Javi Gracia’s men take on fellow relegation candidates Wolves at the Molineux this weekend, in what will be a relegation six-pointer, and to do it without their key man is a crushing blow.

Adams, since his move from Leipzig, has formed the backbone of this Leeds United team throughout this campaign, becoming one of the first names on the Leeds teamsheet and becoming a leader in the dressing room so quickly.
His character, presence, energy and enthusiasm on the pitch will be sorely missed. How Gracia aims to replace Adams’ qualities for this weekend’s clash could prove incredibly pivotal to the outcome of Saturday’s game.
