Phil Hay delivers Luis Sinisterra playing issues amid Leeds United-Bournemouth transfer deadline day chaos

Phil Hay believes that it would’ve been impossible for Luis Sinisterra to play had he gone down the legal route if Leeds United had not allowed him to join Bournemouth.

The Colombia international left on transfer deadline day for Bournemouth and the announcement was made after the 11pm deadline.

There was the option of him going down the legal route as his relegation clause technically had expired and that would prevent him from leaving on loan.

Via Twitter, Hay, an Athletic journalist wrote, “This is basically how it was. Sinisterra might have won a legal argument. Leeds might have won a legal argument. But it would have been slow and it would have been very difficult/impossible for him to play in the meantime.

“Ghosts of JKA and so on.”

Makes sense

Leeds have seen the ugly turn things take when there are legal disputes involved with player transfers.

They did not want Sinisterra to go and technically they had a point in keeping him once the deadline of the clause passed, but he was adamant to leave.

Leeds desperately needed someone to replace him and while Jaidon Anthony is not as good, he’s still another body in that area.

He’s also started the season decently for the Cherries and has a better recent fitness record than Sinisterra.

It was also down to the player’s happiness and nothing about the Colombian suggested he was happy staying at Elland Road.

He would’ve downed tools and rubbed Farke the wrong way so it’s better that he was allowed to go on loan.

In other Leeds United news, the Whites tabled multiple enquiries to sign a multi-million international winger ahead of the transfer deadline.
