Phil Hay clarifies Andrea Radrizzani video clip as Leeds United chief spotted on his phone amid Jesse Marsch crisis

Phil Hay doesn’t seem to think there’s anything to read into Andrea Radrizzani’s visit to Inter Milan after the Leeds United chairman was spotted in Italy this week.

FCInterNews. It reported on 27 October that the Leeds owner made a surprise visit to Inter’s Viale Della Liberazione base with video footage further showing him on his phone outside.

The Athletic journalist Hay, however, has pointed out that Radrizzani regularly visits Inter Milan’s headquarters and added that he does reside in Milan.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Phil Hay Show podcast (28 October, 36m22s), Hay said: “He does show up from time to time and this isn’t the first time he’s been seen going to Inter.

“I’ve not had time to check on that but previous visits there have not been dramatic from a Leeds United point of view.

“I know there was a bit of talk about TV rights, which is never far from the agenda.”

When joking about signing a player from Inter Milan, Hay said: “A striker, please.”

Busy man

Leeds aren’t the only club on Radrizzani’s agenda.

He also manages sports broadcasting group Eleven Sports, who have the rights to show football matches across Europe as well as other sports.

DAZN incorporated Eleven Sports last month so it’s clear that Radrizzani is doing a very good job at growing that business.

Unfortunately, Leeds are stagnating.

Radrizzani’s took the club very far but there’s a feeling that he’s done all he can with the Elland Road outfit now.

He didn’t pump any money into the club in the summer with all transfer proceeds being raised by the sales of Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha.

And there’s the looming takeover from the 49ers Enterprises, who’ve already acquired a 44 per cent stake at the Yorkshire club.

Radrizzani, as a businessman, is a success.

He probably does know it’s time to sell up Leeds but that could all just be down to the 49ers now.

In other Leeds United news, Marsch has this many games to save his job at Elland Road.
