Peter Lowy spotted at Leeds United defeat v Crystal Palace in 49ers trip to forget

Key 49ers Enterprises chief Peter Lowy was at Elland Road to watch Leeds United thumped by Crystal Palace 5-1 on Sunday 09 April, according to Jack Gaughan.

The Daily Mail journalist reported that Lowy sat alongside an advisor of Andrea Radrizzani, Massimo Marinelli to watch the second half capitulation.

Leeds have now plunged themselves back into relegation danger, sitting in 16th only two points above the dreaded drop zone and Nottingham Forest.

Gaughan wrote in the Daily Mail, The Verdict, [10 April, pg 7], that it was a trip to forget: “Leeds director Peter Lowry, a key player in the 49ers Enterprises investment group, chose a bad game to come over from Los Angeles to watch.

“He sat with Massimo Martinelli – a key advisor to Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani – but the trip was one to forget.”

Shocking.

If the 49ers thought this was going to be an easy end to the season after that win over Nottingham Forest, they could not have been more wrong.

They will have seen a side that needs some real work done to it in the transfer window if they do stay up, with plenty of players simply not good enough at this level.

Luke Ayling is the prime example, with the defender absolutely rotten in recent games making continuous mistakes but somehow keeping his spot under Javi Gracia.

Lowy will be in constant contact with the likes of Paraag Marathe back in Los Angeles, and there will be big concerns after what they saw yesterday.

Leeds need to be much, much better if they want to stay in the Premier League, there are simply no excuses for what was on show at Elland Road, they will know that.

Something must change, and quickly.
