Pep Guardiola shares what he has told Manchester City squad before Leeds United clash
Leeds and Man City are already looking ahead to their meeting at Elland Road on 28 February.
The Whites earned a 1-1 draw away to Aston Villa on Saturday, with Tammy Abraham’s 88th-minute equaliser denying Daniel Farke’s side their second away win of the season.
Leeds have maintained their six-point lead over 18th-placed West Ham in the Premier League, but the games certainly don’t get any easier.
As for Man City, they beat Newcastle 2-1, and Pep Guardiola has already spoken about how his side will take a small break before training intensely ahead of next week’s trip to Yorkshire.

Pep Guardiola reveals Man City will take three days off before preparing for Man City vs Leeds
The previous meeting between both sides ended 3-2 to Man City on 29 November, with Phil Foden scoring a stoppage-time winner at the Etihad.
However, this was the first match where Farke switched to a 3-5-2 formation, and ever since then, Leeds have only lost two Premier League games.
Speaking in his post-match press conference after the Newcastle win, Guardiola showcased his elite mentality as a head coach by already outlining his plan ahead of next week’s trip to Elland Road.
He said: “I said to my players, ‘go take caipirinhas and daiquiris, enjoy life. And after that, we have three proper training sessions before going to Leeds,’ that is a proper way to do it.”
Although it will keep Man City’s squad fresh, Farke may use it to his side’s advantage by putting in some extra work in training over the coming days.
What’s also clear is that the Spanish head coach is prepared for the test in LS11, and it should prove to be a thrilling game under the lights.
What has Pep Guardiola said about Daniel Farke?
Farke led Norwich City to a famous 3-2 win over the Citizens in September 2019, but he has lost every match against Guardiola ever since.
As for Leeds, they haven’t beaten Spaniard’s side since April 2021, with the last four meetings all ending in defeat.
While that doesn’t make for good reading, there is definitely more optimism among fans for Saturday’s clash than there has been in a long time.

The German head coach is doing a brilliant job, and Leeds’ physicality at home could prove to be a real problem for Man City.
In his press conference, Guardiola spoke about the threat Farke‘s side may pose, admitting how difficult it will be for his side.
Let’s hope the Elland Road lights can claim another huge scalp.
